All-abilities paddling program

Special Olympics

Introducing our All Abilities Special Olympics program (formerly known as PaddleALL). This program designed for paddlers with disabilities, focused on promoting paddling for all ability levels! At PRCC, we provide a safe and supportive environment where athletes can feel comfortable and build water sporting skills on various watercraft.

This program is open to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, and we offer a range of watercraft options, including recreational canoes and kayaks, as well as sprint race kayaks. We believe in creating an inclusive environment where each participant can develop skills and confidence at their own pace, with a strong emphasis on having fun and being safe on the water.

Our experienced coaches provide safety orientation and instruction to all participants, and each paddler is paired with a paddling partner for 3:1 support to ensure their safety and enjoyment. The program is ideal for ages 10 and older, although younger children may be accepted at the discretion of the All-Abilities Coach. Participants may be divided into two groups – recreation or development – with the development group focusing on skill improvement.

Both recreational and development participants have the opportunity to race at regattas, competing against other Special Olympics athletes if they wish. You can refer to the calendar on our website for regatta dates.

Our program runs from May 29th to August 28th, 2023, on Monday evenings from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. The cost of the program is $250.00, which includes all taxes and fees, as well as equipment and all regattas.

We look forward to welcoming you to our All-Abilities program where we focus on creating an inclusive and enjoyable paddling experience for all participants!
